The update will not overwrite your data; it simply updates the software. It is important to apply the update to all PCs running Bigfoot.

Yes, there is a setting located in Utilities/Setup, on the Custom Settings tab, that says "Show printer dialog.” Select this option to enable a Print options screen.

A setting can be typed into the SMARTM.ini file, which allows you to select another printer. The setting is ShowPrinterDialogBox=ON.

These are set up in Utilities/Setup under “Manage Drop Lists” at the top. Here you can set up your own information for many drop lists found throughout the program.

“Category” and/or “Sub-Category” will appear on main screen once they are selected for a piece of equipment on the “Category Set-up” tab found in Equipment Profile.

First, verify that the information in “Setup e-mail System” is correct. If so, you are probably getting this error because your anti-virus or firewall software settings do not currently allow Bigfoot to access the Internet. Adjust the Internet Access Control settings so sm.exe is permitted.

This error usually occurs on systems with IE6 installed. Try updating IE6 to the latest service pack.

Usually this error indicates system .dll files have been corrupted or have been overwritten with incompatible versions. If you are running Microsoft Office, try reinstalling it to clear error. If you do not have Microsoft Office, we recommend updating to the most recent version of Internet Explorer. If this does not work, download the latest Microsoft Jet Engine pack.

This error usually means the CD has become unreadable due to a surface scratch or is corrupted; call Smartware Group to request another CD.

If you still have the sample data provided with the program, enter in Security Code 1000, and then adjust your security system settings.

We are making every effort to eliminate unnecessary duplicate data entry throughout program; therefore, we now pull these drop list names from the “Set up Employees” list. You can delete the entries for Work Order drop lists: “Assigned to”, “Received by” and “Completed by” from inside the Manage Drop List module.

This is because of a new feature that hides equipment that is not assigned to a major category. This can be fixed by going to Utilities/Setup. On the "Custom Settings" tab to the left is an option for "Major category ‘Unassigned’ is hidden on most screens (need to restart).” Make sure that is NOT checked, then restart Bigfoot.
