Bigfoot CMMS - Internet Version
Module 1 Orientation
Who gets "orientation"?
- Every customer who buys Bigfoot CMMS - Internet Version is entitled to orientation - even if they have NOT purchased training.
- If you have purchased virtual training, this is is "module 1". Onsite customers will repeat this when the trainer comes on site. Onsite training should still participate in this virtual orientation.
Who should attend?
- The "admin" user on the system - this is the person(s) who will be setting us sites, users, permissions and other basic "behind-the-scenes" information that will be at the foundation of the system
- Operations/CMMS/Maintenance "Manager" - even if he or she will not use the system much. Philosophical issues come up when initially setting up Bigfoot. People who control how they want information input, process, analyzed should have feedback during this phase. Sitting in on this coordination is very beneficial - even if they are not technical.
- 1 or 2 "power users". This would typically be a maintenance tech or similar. Although we don't cover detailed work order or PM setup during this training, The "power user" might have good input on how the information should be setup.
When should you go thru the orientation?
- After the purchase of our technology is formalized.
- Before you plan to actually sit down and start to setup and implement. But not too early so it is fresh in your mind.
- Onsite training customers: even though this will be covered onsite, it is important that you still sit thru this in advance of the trainer arriving. This is beneficial to help you better experiment with the software.
- The purpose of this orientation is to help avoid frustration when you begin using the system.
What is covered during the orientation?
- Review Startup kit and its use. Trainer note: confirm receipt of Startup Kit and Printing setup documents.
- Understanding the home page (including home page links)
- Modifying "My Profile"
- Navigation Standards
- Creating sites, users, departments, Manufactures/Vendors and equipment/Part categories and sub-categories and locations. Utilities List Management vs. Site List Management.
- Site permissions of a user
- Regular vs. Requester vs. worker. Trainer note: review user vs. worker concept.
- Accessing the help file
Orientation Video
We have a "refresher" orientation video that you can watch. Please note - this is a good summary of the content but is not intended to replace the orientation. Click here to view.
